MOC Breaking News: Wingo to suspend Parliament

​Tension between the Kingdom of Lego's Royal Family and the Prime Minister Rito Wingo has intensified, after the King refused to accede to Wingo's request to suspend the Parliament so that he could rule the Kingdom by decree.

Wingo's claim that the suspension of parliament is necessary for the government to work effectively against military threats from Malatia. 

Rumours about Wingo's plan to suspend the parliament have been circulating, but the Prime Minister Office only announced last night that the cabinet has decided to proceed with the suspension.

The opposition believes that Wingo is moving the Kingdom towards a dictatorship. 

"Luckily we have the King who put a stop to Wingo's attempt to grab power", said an opposition spokesman.

Wingo had sought an audience with King Arius urgently this morning. At 10 am, the King received Wingo, who then submitted the proposed letter of parliamentary suspension. According to palace sources, Wingo had told King Arius he needed to suspend parliament as there was a threat to the Kingdom as reported by the Defence Ministry.

"Malatia has threatened Suva and there is a clear threat that Malatia will use force to atack Suva. We will be at war again," claimed Wingo.

The King however called up the Royal Intelligence and Security Service (RISS) which reported that there was no imminent security threat to the kingdom. Based on RISS' report, the King rejected Wingo's request.

Wingo was extremely angry and told his supporters outside the palace that the King should be removed.

"The people voted for me, and the King should listen to what the people want. They want security and if need be, a war. This war is a just war", said Wingo.

"Malatia has threatened the Kingdom of Suva, and we will destroy them. ," added Wingo.

The opposition has called for a nation-wide protests against Wingo's foreign and economic policy this weekend.
