Brikvanian Counter-Attack: Legos Suffered Heavy Casualties

A picture released by the Brikvanian Defence Ministry showed bodies of Legos troops along with damaged tanks and armoured vehicles outside Avalon.

About 70 Legos troops were killed and another 200 wounded during heavy battles outside the town of Avalon in Legolis Province.

The Legos troops were part of a column advancing towards the province's border. Reporters on the ground reported that some 15 Legos tanks and armoured vehicles were destroyed too.

Brikvanian commandos and infantry troops from the 2nd Regiment launched surprise counter-attacks on Legos troops around the town of Avalon, which was recently captured by the Kingdom of Lego .

Using anti-tank missiles and small artillery, the Brikvanians caught the Legos by surprise in a dawn raid.  The Brikvanians attacked Avalon in several directions. They also ambushed a column of Legos tanks and armoured vehicles about 10 km from Avalon.

Residents of Avalon reported that Legos troops had pulled out from the western part of the town, and some 150 of these troops were trapped around the town square as the Brikvanians were pouring into Avalon.

As the Brikvanians were pushing the Legos in all directions, Legos warplanes took to the sky and bombarded Brikvanian positions around Avalon. 

Legos warplanes also continued their attacks on Briktown, the capital city of Brikvania. The Briktown international airport was partly destroyed during the Legos air assault.

News of heavy casualties amongst the Legos troops led to another day of massive protests in the Kingdom of Lego.  Thousands of protesters massed outside Prime Minister Rito Wingo's home and attempted to enter his residence. Riots police were called in to push the protesters away.

The opposition Royal Party has called for the King to take action to halt the conflict with Brikvania.

"We must stop this madness by Wingo and the Legos First Party," said Sir Glummy Ligo, the shadow minister for defence.
