Brikvanian Deploys More Troops to Border

The Brikvanian Defence Ministry announced the deployment of extra troops to the border area as tensions with Malatian increased. 

"Extra tanks, armoured vehicles and troops are deployed along all frontline", said the statement which was released last night.

Troops from the newly raised 4th Brikvanian Regiment (4th BR) are being moved to the border areas within the next 48 hours. The 4th BR is currently based in Briktown, the capital of Brikvania.

The Brikvanian government decided to deploy more troops to the border area after the latest intelligence provided by Legonia indicated Malatia had deployed more troops to the Brikvanian border.

For the past several weeks, the Malatian government has been slowly building up its military forces along the border with Brikvania. As of yesterday, the Legonian intelligence estimated the Malatian government has about 60,000 troops at the border. 

The Leognian does not believe the Malatians have enough troops for a full scale invasion of Brikvania. Several more weeks of military deployment are needed for Malatia to have sufficient forces for any invasion to take place.

Besides regular Malatian military units, Malatia could also count on the support of ethnic Malatian who are part of the separatist movement in the Malatian Province of Brikvania. There are about 7,000 fighters fighting against the Brikvanian government forces in the province. 

In the capital of Malatia, Maltia, President-for-Life Xitin has met with top Malatian military leaders to review all emergency plan. Responding to questions from reporters outside the Malatian Defence Ministry, Xitin said that Malatia will not start any war. "But we reserve to protect our interests by all means", said Xitin.
