Castonia Confirmed Armed Royal Guards At Border

The Castonian government confirmed several unverified reports that it has deployed armed Castonian Royal Guards (CRG) personnel along the border with Malatia.

Since five days ago, villagers along the border with Malatia reported seeing more armed CRG troops on patrol.

The CRG is a 700-strong security unit that performs policing and custom duties, but also as a military unit for Castonia.  Its primary function is to provide security for the Royal Family.

The deployment of armed CRG personnel reflects a growing concern about Malatia's intention towards Castonia. President Xitin of Malatia had recently denounced the independence of Castonia.

There were reports that Malatian troops had occupied the Doklam Pass, located inside Castonia. The reports have not been confirmed by the Castonian government, but no foreigners and reporters are allowd to proceed to the Doklam area.

When asked by reporters the reason for the deployment of armed troops along the border, the Castonian government said that it was a routine patrol, and denied that the deployment was a response to Malatian military incursion.
