Castonian Royal Guards To Perform Police Duty

The Castonian government announced the set up of the Castonian Royal Guards (CRG). This unit will perform military, constabulary, custom and  border security duty for the Principality of Castonia.

The first batch of 120 trainees have completed their training, and are now deployed for policing duties.

The final number of personnel within the CRG is expected to be between 750 to 1,200.  The CRG will be headed by Colonel William Castor, a close associate of Prince Revalia, ruler of Castonia.

Being a small micro kingdom  with a small economy, Castonia could not afford a large standing army. The CRG is designed to perform policing, custom and military duties.

Currently, policing and custom operations are being performed by Malatian officials seconded to Castonia.  There are about 1,500 Malatian police and custom officials working in Castonia currently, but this number will be reduced to about 600 within the next 2 months.

Prince Revalia has requested the Kingdom of Equanter to provide assistance to beef up the skills of the CRG. Some 100 Equanterian police officers are now in Castonia, tasked with the training of CRG officers.
