Ceasefire Taking Place: Troops Withdrawing Amid Peace Talk

The unilateral ceasefire announced by King Arius of the Kingdom of Lego has taken effect. Legos troops were being withdrawn from Legolis Province. 

On the ground, talks between the Legos military commanders, the United Nations (UN) peacekeepers and Brikvanian military  are also taking place for a peaceful take over of Avalon, the main town in Legolis Province.

King Arius announced the ceasefire immediately after the sacking of his hardliner Prime Minister Rito Wingo.

In a radio announcement, King Arius said: "  I have instructed the Royal Armed Forces of Lego to cease their military campaign in Brikvania with immediate effect, and to withdraw from any territories occupied illegally".

There are some 15,000 to 20,000 Legos troops inside Brikvania currently. They were involved in the military campaign against Brikvania. Under the leadership of Wingo government, the Legos troops had invaded and occupied the Legolis Province of Brikvania.

On the ground, members of the Armed Forces of Brikvania together with the UN troops are massing outside Avalon, which is partly occupied by Legos troops. 

A local Brikvanian army commander said that the UN forces on the ground is working to ensure a safe withdrawal of all Legos troops from occupied territories, and for the local police to take over security duties in the town.
