El Chapone Charged In Court Amid Tight Security

The leader of the the El Chapone gang has been charged in court with corruption charges.  The charges are linked to bribes being paid to former Prime Minister Rito Wingo, who is himself being detained.

Under heavy escort, El Chapone was escorted from the central detention centre to the Kingdom's Royal High Court.

El Chapone is a well known drug lord who has strong business connection with former Legonia's Prime Minister Rito Wingo. He has donated $1 million Brick dollars to Wingo's election campaign two years ago.

One year ago El Chapone escaped from Legonia to Equanter after the police began investigation into his drug deals. He was detained by the Equanterian Police but managed to escape from detention twice. 

El Chapone was finally arrested in a covert police operation six months ago and has been detained in the maximum detention centre in Legoniatown. 

Former Prime Minister Wingo attempted to pardon and release El Chapone but the pardon was refused by King Arius. 

El Chapone said that he will be a prosecution witness and will provide testimony against Wingo and his son. El Chapone's former deputy in the El Chapone gang, Brickcobar, has vowed that he will bring the gang to greater height.

Birckobar is suspected to be hiding in Malatia or Brikvania, and is protected by some 100 heavily armed gang members.
