Equanter Forms Two New Regiments

The Armed Forces of Equanter has formed two new infantry regiments as part of a military build-up to counter the Malatian threats.

The 3rd and 4th King's Own Regiment (KOR) were officially declared operational yesterday by the Crown Prince, who had visited the units at the Royal Barrack in the capital city.

The 3rd and 4th KOR were raised immediately after the end of the Equanter civil war.  They are trained to deal with external threats, and most likely be deployed along the Equanterian border with Malatia.

"The threat from Malatia is real.  Malatia has deployed almost 40,000 troops along our border, and we need a strong army to deter any Malatian aggression", said the Crown Prince in a speech delivered to the army top brass.

The Equanterian government has been anxious since Malatia had recalled back its ambassador to the kingdom.
