Farming Industry to Benefit from New Green Deal

The new economic initiative under Prime Minister Sir Winston Mofty will bring huge benefits to Legonian farming industry.

​This claim is made based on findings from several research institutions.

The Legonian government will set aside some $50 million Brick dollars for farmers to use recycle water and renewable energy. In the long run, experts believed each farm will see a reduction in electric prices by up to 45%.

"The reduction in the cost of power supply will mean each farmer will see the operating cost of his farm being reduced. The farmer will therefore earn more profit", said Professor Jonny Jon of the Legonian Farming School.

The government will provide a huge subsidy for farmers to install solar panels in their farms.  More jobs, especially in the countryside, will be created as the installations of the solar panels will require workers.

The job creation in the countryside will have a spill-over effect on other local industry, such as food and beverages, supermarkets and food supply.

"When local workers have more money, they will eat out, buy more groceries etc. Local small towns will also benefit from the New Green Deal economic package", said Professor Jon.
