General Election: Three Main Parties Will Compete

The Royal Police has step up security checks around the kingdom as the election is looming.

As the Legonian General Election is looming, three main political parties have confirmed they will compete in the election. The big three parties are: Royalist Party (RP), Royal Green Party (RGP) and the Party United Bricks (PUB).

The new Parliament will have 120 seats and the first party to secure a simple majority of 61 seats will form the next government.

The Crown Prince has announced that he will resign from the post of interim Prime Minister once the new government is  formed.  

The Kingdom of Legonia will have a new constitution too.  There will be a maximum of five ministries : The Treasury, Defence and Home Affairs, Trade and Foreign Affairs,  Health and Environment Affairs, and Bricks Community Affairs.

​The new Constitution also ensures that the Prime Minister and the King will  act as a check and balance to one another to ensure no abuse of power among the political elite. 

There will be about 400 polling stations throughout the kingdom. The United Nations (UN) has sent 400 observers to ensure the transparency and fairness of the election process. They will work with the local police and military forces.

The Commissioner of the Royal Police has announced that the police will be out in force to ensure that the election is peaceful.

"We have worked with the UN to ensure all voters will have a nice day during the election", said a police spokesman.
