Government Forces Entered Smallville - Rebels Still Putting Up Heavy Resistance

Equanter forces have entered Smallville after fierce fighting at the outskirts of the town. However rebel fighters are still holding on parts of the town and conducting fierce counterattacks on government troops.

After battling rebel fighters at the outskirts of Smallville for the past few days, Equanterian forces have recaptured the town police station and shopping district. However the town hall and other local government offices are still in the hand of the rebels, who have conducted fierce counter attacks on government troops in the town.

"We have liberated Smallville and are now clearing pockets of resistance across the town," claimed a Defence Ministry press release.

Many houses and buildings in Smallville have been destroyed. Most of the residents have sought shelter in a nearby school.

"We are happy that government forces have liberated us," said a resident. "The rebels have been very cruel and many residents were punished even for a simple petty crime."
