King Arius Met Regional Military Commanders

King Arius of Legonia met the military commanders of the United Nations (UN) peacekeeping forces in the region, along with the chiefs of military forces from the Non-Aggression Royalist Treaty Organisation (NARTO).

The NARTO military commanders  are in Legotown for a regional NARTO security conference.

King Arius thanked the UN and NARTO military commanders for their works in keeping the region safe.  

"The last few years have seen this region besieged with conflicts and unjust wars.  Every pound and penny saved from military expenditures and wars can be diverted to ensure a better welfare for the people," said King Arius in his welcome speech.

The UN will draw down its peacekeeping forces in the region. Only 50 observers will be deployed in the Kingdom of Suva and Brikvania. Some 2000 UN troops will be withdrawn in the next 2 to 3 months.

As for NARTO membership, King Arius said that it is up to Prime Minister Winston Mofty to decide on further expansion. 

"As a King, my role is limited to some areas. I cannot intervene directly in the defence policy," explained King Arius.

Prime Minister Mofty has confirmed that Brikvania has been invited to join NARTO.

​After a short audience with King Arius, the NARTO and UN delegates were hosted to fine dining of fine lambs and other Legonian local fruits and wines in the Palace.
