KING'S SPEECH: Prime Minister Sacked, Military Campaign Ceased

The Royal Palace of the Kingdom of Lego. King Arius has impeached Prime Minister Rito Wingo.

In a shocking address delivered to his subjects this morning, King Arius of the Kingdom of Lego has sacked Prime Minister Rito Wingo and his entire cabinet. 

The King has appointed the Crown Prince as the caretaker Prime Minister, with a general election to be held in 4 weeks time.

King Arius had called for an urgent press conference earlier this morning. At 10 am sharp, the King spoke to the press at the Royal Palace. His Excellency was flanked by the Chief of the Defence Force and the Police Commissioner. 

" To all my subjects, the situation has spiralled out of control. We are in a dangerous situation. Our economy is in danger of sinking, we are enriching the rich and taxing the middle class and the poor. We have invaded Brikvania without any justification. This has to end.

Wingo's policy to make our Kingdom great again is nothing but a fantasy. In reality, Wingo and the Legos First Party (LFP) are criminals. The Police Commissioner has briefed me on the findings of the police investigations. We have established that Wingo and his family, along with the top members of the LFP, have close criminal connections with the El Chapone gang. 

Under Section 10 of the Royal Constitution, I as the Head of State of the Kingdom of Lego, hereby impeach Prime Minister Wingo and his government with immediate effect.  The Crown Prince is appointed as the caretaker Prime Minister, and a general election is to be held in four weeks time. 

All military campaign in Brikvania will cease with immediate effect. I have invited King Brik II of Brikvania to Legotown for a peace summit. 

I urge all subjects to cease the protests and keep calm. Eat ice cream or chocolate if need be. It helps to calm the mind.  God Save Our Kingdom".

The Chief of Defence Force has confirmed that Legos troops inside Brikvania have been pulled back to the border.  The Police Commissioner also announced that warrants for the arrest of WIngo has been issued, and members of the former government under Wingo have been arrested.

​There were jubilation and celebrations as the King's speech was broadcast throughout the region. Peace is at hand, again.
