Malatia Attacks Suvanese Military Positions

Several explosions were heard last night across Suvatown, the capital city of the Kingdom of Suva, as Malatia launched a military campaign to recapture Balklands Island from the Suvanese.

Malatian warships have also fired on Suvanese positions on Balklands Island, and there were reports that thousands of Malatian troops have been landed on the occupied territory.

In a communique released yesterday by the Public Communication Office, the Malatian Government stated that: "As of 20:00 hrs today, the Malatian Government is in a state of war with the Kingdom of Suva over its  occupation of the Balklands Island. All our military forces have been put on high alert, and military operations are now taking place to liberate our occupied territories from the invaders."

Malatian warplanes conducted attacks on Suvanese military installations across the small kingdom around midnight, and reports coming in stated some elements of the Malatian army have been seen at the land border between the two countries.

On Balklands Island, heavy fighting  were reported to have taken place at Port Brickley, the island's main town. Several hundreds Malatian paratroops and Special Forces personnel were dropped on the island at around 1 am this morning, and they have engaged the Suvanese troops  around the town. 

"There are so many explosions and gunfire outside my farm. We are now hiding in our basement," said a Malatian farmer on Balklands Island. 

​The Malatian military operations are still continuing as of press time.  It is believed the Malatian troops are concentrating their efforts to recapture a nearby airport, police post and radio station. According to sources, Field Marshal Nutyubrick was personally involved in the planning of the military operations against Suva.

Prime Minister Rito Wingo of the Kingdom of Lego has warned Malatia to cease its military operations. "We reserve the right to attack Malatia," said Wingo. 

In the Kingdom of Suva, the residents are angry with the Suvanese Royal Family for leading the kingdom into another war. "We are sick of this Royal Family. Why must our king listen to Wingo and invade Malatian territory," said a local resident in Suvatown.
