The Kingdom of Lego troops halted the advancing Malatian invaders at Fort Lego, a military town 45 km west of Legotown. A spokesman for the Royal Armed Forces of Lego (RAFL) confirmed that the defensive line is still being held by RAFL troops.

For the past five days, Malatian troops attempted to break the defence line around Fort Lego.  A fierce resistance was put up by RAFL forces, and backed by warplanes, the RAFL troops were able to defeat the Malatians.

Malatian forces around Fort Lego have been reinforced with additonal troops from Malatia. A combined force of 200,000 Malatian troops backed by tanks, armoured vehicles and artillery have surrounded and launched sustained attack on Fort Lego, which has been stubbornly defended by elements of 1st and 2nd RAFL Divisions.

Fighting around Fort Lego have been heavy, but Malatian forces launched their largest operation to capture the city two days ago. Malatian troops from the elite 101st and 102nd Armoured Division have launched five attacks on the RAFL defensive lines in the last 48 hours, but all the attacks were repulsed by RAFL anti-tank guns formations.

In the last major offensive at 5 pm yesterday, 20,000 Malatian soldiers backed by tanks launched an overwhelming attack on Secomb, a village about 4 km to the east of Fort Lego which were defended by some 2,000 RAFL troops. The Malatians managed to overwhelm the Lego defenders and broke through the RAFL defensive positions around the village. However their advance was halted when RAFL warplanes began pounding the Malatian ground troops and vehicles.

Additonal RAFL soldiers from Fort Lego then launched fierce counter attacks on Malatian troops caught in the aerial bombardment. According to reports, the Malatians have lost 300 tanks and armoured vehicles in the past 24 hours alone, a loss which is not sustainable.

The Kingdom of Lego Defence Ministry has released a statement: " Fighting around Fort Lego has been heavy. In the last 48 hours, we have killed or captured 60,000 enemy troops, destroying some 700 of their tanks and armoured vehicles, and shot down 17 of their warplanes. On our side, we suffered 3,000 deaths and 8,000 injured, losing some 78 tanks and armoured vehicles. Our forces are still holding onto Fort Lego as of now."

Reports from the frontline indicated that additional RAFL units have already moved in around Fort Lego and are now attempting to encircle the 250,000 plus Malatian forces outside the town.
