Malatian Forces Closing In On Maname

Malatian Forces have captured the Equanterian bordertown of Smallville and are now moving towards the provincial capital of Maname.

There were panics in the streets of Maname as refugees fleeing from Smallville and other parts of the Eastern Province converged in the city.  Residents of the city were also reported to be busy stocking up on food and water supplies.

Equanterian Defence Ministry confirmed that extra troops are being rushed to defend Maname against the advancing Malatian forces.

Equanterian troops from the 1st King's Own Regiment (KOR) defending Smallville had put up strong resistance but they were overwhelmed by the Malatian military forces. In many parts of the frontline, Equanterian military units were surrounded and cut off.

According to Radio Equanter: " Our Equanterian forces fought valiantly and imposed heavy damages to enemy forces. While we have lost control of some insignificant areas, our forces have made strategic withdrawal to Maname."

Reports from the beachfront in the Eastern Province are not good either. The 2nd KOR troops that were sent to engage Malatians forces landing along the shores were totally destroyed by Malatian warplanes and the overwhelming 5,000 Malatian marines. Some 150 survivors from the 2nd KOR have also retreated towards Maname.

As reports of defeats on the frontline began pouring in, the residents of Maname became panic. There were reports of residents lining up at supermarket and shops, stocking up on food and water supplies. Police officers were deployed at key buildings to prevent looting.

"We are confident that we are able to stop the advancement of Malatian forces at Maname," said Major Goofo, Commanding Officer in charge of Maname's defence.

"500 extra troops have been rushed to Maname, and together with the 1st and 2nd KOR, we have a strong defensive positions here. We have enough food supply, especially vanilla ice cream, which is my favourite," added Major Goofo.

At the capital city of De Quan, the Defence Ministry is busy coordinating with other NARTO countries for a joint defence force in Equanter against Malatia.
