Malatian Province Governor Met King Brik II

​The Governor of Malatian Province, Lord Kumo Como, had an audience with King Brik II at Brown Castle. The escalating tension in the Malatian Province was discussed during the meeting, according to a Palace official.

"The King had an excellent discussion on how to diffuse the security situation in the Malatian Province.  One of the proposals is to disband the local Home Guard unit and to send in the Brikvanian Army.  However the King opined that the situation is better managed by the police", according to a statement from Brown Castle.

Ethnic Malatians within the Malatian Province in Brikvania had been staging protests and riots at the worsening economic situation in the province.  Several government related businesses were destroyed in a large riots two nights ago.

Many ethnic Malatians perceived the central government under King Brik II as ignoring their plight and is pro-Legonia.

The Malatian Embassy in Brikvania has also issued a statement, calling for a peaceful settlement to the current tension in the Malatian Province.

"The Malatian People's Liberation Army (MPLA) is ever ready to assist the Brikvanian government in whatever way we can", according to a statement released by the Malatian Embassy in Briktown.

Regional countries are concerned that the tension in the Malatian Province may draw the two major powers in the region, Legonia and Malatia, to another major conflict.

President Xitin of Malatia has not yet commented on the tension and violence within the Malatian Province.
