Maltia Under Siege - City Centre Under Artillery Attack

The Malatian capital city has come under heavy artillery attack from NARTO forces for the first time. Meanwhile, members of the elite Kingdom of Lego Naval Commandos have spearheaded a lightning strike on Malatian forward defence positions , causing some of the Malatian troops to retreat to the outskirts of the city.​

The main fighting is now taking place along River Bhrine, a wide waterway about 8 km outside Maltia's city limit.  Allies troops from the 3rd NARTO Army Group are battling the elite Malatian 3rd Division of the Rapid Deployment Force (RDF). 

"The RDF commandos are pretty good fighters. While the Malatian infantry units have collapsed easily, the RDF troops have not given up their positions despite our heavy pounding," said Major Tutus of the Fabus Defence Force, which is part of the NARTO alliance. 

The Malatian Defence Ministry complex, located outside the city's limit, has been pounded by NARTO's artillery for the past 24 hours. The complex, equipped with pill boxes and tank's trap, is the main defensive line for the western part of the city. If NARTO captures the complex, it will open the way for NARTO troops to enter Maltia.

Inside the city of Maltia, the evacuation of key government buildings have began last night. Troops were seen entering several government buildings and leaving with boxes of documents. Two press conferences by the Defence Ministry were cancelled as all available military staff were being sent to the frontline. 

The Malatian Propaganda Office has announced through radio broadcast for the citizens to remain calm and not to panic as the fighting edges close to the city. To cheer up the citizens, the Propaganda Office has given out free ice creams at several locations with the message "KEEP CALM: Eat Ice Cream".
