Martial Law Declared: Curfews Imposed

President Xitin and the Malatian army have tightened their grips on the country after launching a coup against the Republic National Congress.

​The Malatian army has declared martial law, and also imposed curfew from 8pm to 8 am across the country. 

The Malatian cabinet and the Republic National Assembly have been abolished, and they are replaced by a Military High Council chaired by Xitin himself. The High Council will run Malatia by decree.

"Malatia is back to totalitarianism", said a reporter based in Maltia. He reported that residents were afraid to go out to the streets as the army has set up roadblocks and checkpoints across the city.

"There are so may army personnel in the city, even in the farmers' market. They are checking the fruits and vegetables for hidden weapons", said a resident who refused to be named.

Reporters in Maltia, the capital city of Malatia, reported that internet services are still down. Newspapers offices, TV and radio stations are till shut, and being guarded by heavily armed troops. 

All civilian politicians have been detained and sent to prisons across the country. 

The Maltian International Airport is still closed, and many flights into Malatia have been cancelled. 

Regional Bricks nations are concerned about the situation in Malatia. Many are afraid that the new Malatian military government has ill-intention to smaller countries in the region.

The Kingdom of Suva, a member of Non-Aggression Royalists Treato Organisation (NARTO), has called for an urgent meeting with other members. NARTO is the regional security organisation.

The Principality of Castonia is also concerned about the coup in Malatia. The small hermit kingdom has an ongoing border dispute with Malatia.
