Ministry Proposed Military Expansion

The Kingdom of Lego's Defence Ministry announced that the Royal Armed Forces of Lego (RAFL) will be expanded within the next 6 months.

The military expansion is taking place as regional tension is still high despite the defeat of Malatia in the recent regional war.

There will be an additional 6 Reserve Infantry Divisions for the army, along with ;latest armoured vehicles and artillery pieces. According to Banes Defence Report, the RAFL is working on a new artillery system, code-named PH-88, which can fire up to 10 rounds per minute, and manned by only 3 soldiers.

The navy will receive new and faster gunboats and corvettes, while the air force will have newer air defence system and warplanes.

"We have about $5 billion Brick Dollars set aside for the military expansion," said Lt-Gen Monito Omara, Director of Budget & Procurement for the Defence Ministry.

"Furthermore, many of these weapons will be sold to members of the NARTO alliance, so we will earn big bucks," added Omara.

In the Royal Parliament, a debate is taking place on the deployment of RAFL troops inside Brikvania.  The RAFL has about 50,000 troops in the newly created Kingdom of Brikvania. These troops provide security against external threats for Brikvania and there are plans to withdraw them soon.

"Brikvania has declared neutrality, and therefore NARTO troops cannot be in that Kingdom for too long,' said Omara.
