Principality of Castonia Becomes A Sovereign State

The Principality of Castonia becomes the latest Bricks state to achieve sovereignty. The  new Kingdom is created out of the Equanterian, Sunavese and Malatian territories.

The Head of State of the new Kingdom is Prince Revalia the Third. His great-great-great grandfather was the last sovereign King of Castonia before the small ancient kingdom was colonised in the 18th century.

With a population of 125,000, Castonia is the smallest and poorest state in the region. Most of  the Castonian territories comprise of thick forests. The majority of the residents are farmers.

In a simple ceremony, Prince Revalia officially declared the independence of Castonia as of 12 pm yesterday. Several officials from regional countries were present at the ceremony, including the Crown Prince of Legonia and the Foreign Minister of Malatia.

Prince Revalia declared that he aimed to turn Castonia into a banking and financial centre in the region. He has lowered the corporate tax rate for banks to 5% only, and has invited global companies to set up their offices in Castonia. 

The current annual GDP is only $6 billion Bricks dollars. 90% of the economy is based on farming with almost 80% of the farms produced are exported to Malatia. 

As a landlocked country, Castonia relies on the port facilities in Suva and Brikvania. There is no international airport, with the nearest airport located in Briktown. 

Prince Revalia is seeking Equantert's aid for defence and security. With a small population, Castonia could only afford to field a small army. Currently, the Castonian Royal Family is looking to set up the Castonian Royal Guards (CRG)  with about 760 personnel.
