Principality of Castonia to be Sovereign Soon

The Legonian and Malatian foreign ministries announced that the Principality of Castonia will be a sovereign state on 1 July 2020. 

Prince Revalia the Third will head the Royal Castonian Family who will run the small kingdom. 

With a population of about 125,000,  Castonia will be the smallest country in the region.  It has no oil and gas deposits, with 88% of the land areas covered with thick jungles and mountains.

The economic prospect is not  bright.  90% of the residents in the territory are farmers, with 10% working within the Malatian civil service.  The new kingdom will not have any airport, and being a landlocked country, it will depend on Suva and Brikvania for port facilities. 

Field Marshal Nutyubrick explained that Malatia sought to ensure the old kingdoms and countries in the region should be allowed to take shape again, as many ethnic groups are longing for the past glories. 

"We supported Brikvania's independence, even though it was a decision forced upon us at the end of the last regional war," said Nutyubrick.

"Remember, it was Legonia and Wingo that attacked Brikvania, not Malatia," added Nutyubrick.

King Arius said that with the establishment of Castonia, all the old kingdoms in the region have gained their independence again.

On the ground, Malatian and Equanterian officials are busy marking the borders with the future country of Castonia.  The Malatian government is training the Castonian civil servants, while Equanter has agreed to train the Castonian Army. 

Prince Revalia the Third has also been busy hosting many meetings with the local residents.  There are 3 main towns and 17 villages in Castonia, and Prince Revalia is busy meeting with the towns' mayors and the village heads to understand their concerns.
