Protests in Malatian Province Against Central Government.

Thousands of protesters  are besieging the Parliament building in the Malatian Province in a protest against the Central Government failure to quickly rebuild the province.

​The region has suffered massive damages in the recent war with Legonia, with many buildings and water pipes are still damaged. 

Three thousand protesters converged onto the main square in the provincial capital and demanded that the province should be returned to Malatia.

Many of the protesters are angry with King Brik II government over its failure to provide sufficient funding to rebuild the province. Some 85% of the buildings in the province have been destroyed or partly damaged in the recent war.

The provincial government is unable to deal with the escalating protests and violence effectively as the provincial Home Guards units have refused to be deployed against the protesters.

The Brikvanian Police has sent reinforcement to the province to deal with the escalating law and order breakdown.  Two units of anti-riot squads have been sent from Briktown to the province last night.

The Brikvanian Police HQ assured the public that the Police is capable to maintain law and order in the kingdom and has warned that troublemakers would be dealt with by the law.

"The Police will not hesitate to deal with troublemakers.  We also want to assure the public that the Police is capable to ensure the kingdom's security", said the Police Commissioner.
