Protests Taking Place Across Cities

Hundreds of thousands of protesters across the Kingdom of Lego are taking to the streets to protest against Prime Minister Wingo's hardline foreign and economic policies which many believe will lead to a second regional war.

​The protests were called by the opposition Royal Party against Wingo's plan to reduce corporate taxes, increase personal income taxes and attempt to suspend parliament.

Wingo is also pushing the Kingdom towards a military conflict with Malatia, and has pushed the Kingdom of Suva to invade and occupy Balklands Island, a Malatian territory. At home, the Prime Minister's effort to rule without parliament is being challenged by the Royal Palace.

"We are not a dictator and war mongering country. There is no reason to go to war with Malatia", said an opposition spokesman from the  Royal Party.

The protests were largely peaceful, although the police deployed some 2,000 officers across the kingdom to manage the protesters. 

Tight security was seen around the residence of Prime Minister Wingo as some 1,000 protesters were marching towards it. However the protesters dispersed after being warned by the police. A larger crowd of 20,000 had gathered outside the Royal Palace.

"We are here to support the King against Wingo and his close advisers. We are asking the King to sack Wingo," said a protester.

The Royal Police has confirmed several offices of the Legos First Party (LFP) have been attacked and set on fire throughout the Kingdom. 

Meanwhile, Wingo has announced that he will attempt to suspend parliament again and rule by decree. His announcement was condemned by the Speaker of Parliament, who said that if such a thing happen, the Kingdom of Lego will be like Malatia, a totalitarian state.

Meanwhile, the Kingdom of Lego Foreign Office announced that diplomatic relations with Malatia might be severed.
