Royal Family Statement for Legonians: We Shall Overcome

King Arius and members of the Royal Family on a live broadcast to the Kingdom.

The Royal Family of the Kingdom of Legonia has issued a statement on the eve of King's Arius Birthday. 

The King's birthday is a public holiday in the Kingdom of Legonia. Due to the recent outbreak of the virus Brickvid-91, King Arius has cancelled all events celebrating his birthday.

On a live broadcast, King Arius, flanked by Queen Margaret and the Crown Prince, expressed his thanks to his subjects for their supports and well wishes.

In his speech, King Arius talked about the threats facing the kingdom. "My dear subjects. Our region is recovering from the First Regional War and the latest unjust war with Brikvania. And now we are facing the threats from Brickvid-19 virus. "

"Our Kingdom is working with other regional kingdoms and countries to fight the virus.  We have decided to donate $450 million Bricks dollars to the World of Bricks Health Organisation (WBHO) as part of our strategy against the pandemic."

"All of us are in this together. Regardless if you are Legonians, Equanterians or Malatians, the virus does not discriminate us based on our ethnicity, or how much wealth we have. Therefore it is necessary for all of us to pool our resources to fight this virus".  

"This is not a time for finger-pointing to another countries for the current pandemic.  We must work together, to fight the virus first. This is a matured approach. Only incompetent leaders will point fingers to others, because they are incompetent in the first place and try to blame others for their own shortcomings", said King Arius.

On the lockdown measures imposed by countries in the region, King Arius acknowledged the difficulties facing many Legonians with relatives who are overseas. 

"It is a challenging time for all of us. But working together, I am confidence will recover soon.  We will meet our loved ones again who are across the borders. Until then, we will hold them close to our hearts."

Ending his speech, King Arius said: "My dear subjects. Do not let our kingdom be led again by any politician that promote hatred of any kind so that they could remain in power. Do not led any leader divide us based on our belief, colour of the skin or how much wealth we are worth.  If we stand united, support one another and bring comfort to those in need, we shall overcome the current crisis. We shall overcome".

Palace officials confirmed that King Arius was concerned that the Brickvid-19 virus might be spread out if public celebrations for his birthday were to take place.  Unconfirmed reports said that King Arius has personally donated $1 million Brick dollars of his own money to the Medical Staff Union of Legonia and WBHO.
