Royal Palace Announced Restructuring of Military

King William II announced the complete restructuring of the Armed Forces of Equanter (AFE). The modernization and restructuring of the armed forces is in line with the military threat coming from Malatia, the regional powerhouse.

Planning for the restructuring and modernization of AFE took place during the recently short civil war with Malatians residing in Eastern Province. Several units were abolished and some were combined to ensure the AFE is able to deal with future threat.

As part of the restructuring, there will be 1 Royal Commando Battalion, 1 Royal Guards Battalion and 4 infantry regiment namely: 1st King's Own Regiment (KOR), 2nd King's Own Regiment (KOR), 5th Queen's Regiment and 6th Queen's Regiment. They will be backed by 20th Royal Artillery Company and 22nd Armoured Company equipped with armoured vehicles. A Military Police company and Higher Military HQ will provide other forms of support.

The 1st and 2nd KOR will be equipped to deal with external threats and secure the frontline, while the two Queen's Regiments will primarily be deployed for internal security. The 1st KOR will be deployed in the Eastern Province and backed by 5th Queen's Regiment.

Kingdom of Lego has also agreed to deploy two large warships off Equanter to ensure the security of the Kingdom. RLS Prince of Lyone and RLS Renaissance will arrive in Equanter's main naval base in two months time.

"The modernization of our armed forces will ensure we will meet any future threats forcefully. I will personally ensure the security of the Eastern Province and remove incompetent military officers that gave me headache during the recent civil war," announced King William during a visit to an AFE forward base near the border with Equanter.        

During the last civil war, AFE has suffered 1,200 killed and 1,700 wounded with the lost of 168 vehicles and two antique warplanes.
