UN Security Council Failed to Reduce Tension

The United Nations Secretary-General with King Brik II and Colonel Blu Helmato, Commander of UN peacekeepers in Brikvania.

The United Nations Security Council held an urgent meeting last night to find a solution to the ongoing tension between the Kingdom of Lego and Brikvania.

The Kingdom of Lego ambassador to the UN had refused to attend the meeting, claiming that the dispute with Brikvania is an internal issue.

Brikvania had requested for the urgent meeting to seek the UN assistance to prevent a war with its larger and more powerful neighbour.  The Kingdom of Lego claimed that the Legolis Province in Brikvania should be under its jurisdiction and has massed thousands of troops backed by tanks and armoured vehicles along its border with Brikvania.

The UNSC met at 8 pm last night and after one hour of debate and several rounds of ice cream and pizzas, no solution was found.

King Brik II had personnaly flown into the UNHQ to meet with members of the Security Council.

At the end of the meeting, the UN Secretary-General  informed the media in a press conference that the UN will deploy peacekeepers to the Brikvanian border with the Kingdom of Lego.

King Brik II was disappointed that the UN could not do more to protect his kingdom. 

" This is a naked aggression of Prime Minister Wingo of the Kingdom of Lego.  He wants war and nothing else in order to boost his ego", said King Brik II during the meeting in the UNSC.
